Restaurants

Poop Deck -- Highly recommended by locals and tourists alike.  Fresh seafood - grouper a favorite.  Two locations - bridge by Paradise Island and Sandyport.  Most say downtown location better.  Enjoy view overlooking Marina.
Fish Fry -- Located at Arawak Cay, an eclectic mix of Bahamian cuisine and a popular spot for locals.  Great people watching.  There are several small restaurants that make up this area—-try Seafood Haven, Fish Fry, or Twin Brothers.  Grouper is a well liked favorite.  Lunch served as well.
Graycliff -- For the special occasion.  Elegant 5 star world famous fine dining restaurant located downtown Nassau.  Beautiful garden settings, and exquisite entrees.  Great selection of wines.  Be prepared to spend some cash but well worth every penny.  Also known for their extensive selection of cigars.
Cricket Club -- Great spot for lunch -  across from Arawak Cay/Fish Fry - check out a cricket match while munching on grouper fingers and conch chowder soup.  Casual atmosphere.  A flare of British cuisine as well.
Compass Point -- Maybe the best Steak on the rock, great seafood selections, and certainly one of the great places to watch a sunset. Located on West Bay Street on the waterfront towards Lyford Cay.   Live music on weekends.  Great outdoor bar for watching games and the food is outstanding but also expensive.  One of our favorites !!
Bahamian Drinks -- A must—–savor the locally brewed beer, Kalik.    Rum drinks abundant.  Try da yellowbird, bahama mama, or a goombay smash.
Bars -- Visit Senior Frogs !!!!!  Fun place for Happy Hour or late night dancing……… downtown Nassau on the waterfront.  Upside down margaritas are flowing.  You may even get a tattoo as you enter.  Party atmosphere and tunes crank.  Bars seem to come and go but found a fun spot for live music and rock n roll just East of PI Bridge called Crazy Johnny’s.  Caught some live reggae music at a local joint nearby called Hammmerheads.
